20 Apr Top 10 Ways to Enjoy CBD
Chances are, you’ve heard of CBD. It seems to be all over the news and on the internet lately. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a phytocannabinoid that comes from the Cannabis plant species. Hemp and marijuana are both sub-species of this plant. While there are more than 110 cannabinoids, the two most well-known are THC and CBD. Typically, marijuana contains a high amount of THC (known for its psychoactive effect) and a low amount of CBD. Hemp, on the other hand, is typically high in CBD and low in THC.
Thanks to the inclusion of hemp in the 2018 Farm Bill, CBD extracted from industrial hemp is legal, provided the THC content is 0.3% or less. So, you might think of hemp as the “law-abiding” sister to the marijuana plant. It’s incredibly versatile and can offer users significant health benefits. Hemp-derived CBD products that are low in THC have the potential to help with, pain, sleep, anxiety, inflammation, and other ailments.
As someone who regularly uses CBD, I’m often asked: What are your favorite CBD products? While there is no BEST way for everyone, I’ve decided to share my top 10 favorite ways to experience the benefits of CBD on 4/20!
1. Wake & Bathe
Personally, I like to take a relaxing bath to start my day. Maybe it’s because I’m NOT a morning person and need time to ease into things. Night baths work too, because, what’s better than just soaking in the tub scrolling through blog posts like this one? So, why not kick it up a notch by adding some hemp-derived CBD? My absolute fav is the Nugglit Shea Skin Healer bath bomb. It’s everything you LOVE about bath bombs with NONE of the grimy tub ring. This particular one is “the bomb” for replenishing moisture (did you see what I just did there?) I absolutely love the combo of ingredients, including 35mg of CBD isolate, along with Shea Butter, and Himalayan Salt.
2. Spill the Beans
Are you a coffee addict? If so, I highly recommend trying a cup of Hemp-Infused Coffee by Colorado Hemp Honey. This coffee is smooth and rich, basically a coffee lover’s dream. It’s great to know I can enjoy a cup and get a small dose of CBD while I’m drinking it! There’s 1 mg of cannabidiol to every 2 grams of coffee, giving you a flavorful way to get your morning started or keep your evening going.
3. How Sweet It Is
Did I mention how much I love Colorado Hemp Honey CBD products? Produced by Frangiosa Farms at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, Colorado Hemp Honey is a raw honey food. There’s quite so satisfying as swirling a crunchy pretzel into a golden pool of hemp-infused honey. With names like Tangerine Tranquility and Ginger Soothe, I start to relax the moment I open the jar. Available in convenient chill sticks, as well as, 6oz and 12oz jars, this honey is great by the spoonful or used as an ingredient in your favorite dish!
4. CBD Gummies in My Tummy
If you really want to kick the chill effect into overdrive, you’ll want to pop a few CBD Fx gummies into your mouth! They come in two yummy flavors, but the Turmeric and Spirulina blend is my absolute favorite. With 5mg per gummy, it’s easy to modify how much CBD you’re getting. Beware, it does take some serious self-control to eat just one…they taste like candy!
5. Drop it Like it’s Hot
The classic way to get your daily CBD is orally via dropper. Sometimes called extract or tincture, CBD drops are often a preferred method because they’re absorbed very quickly from under the tongue. Because the “earthy” taste of cannabidiol can be strong, many companies flavor their extract. I recently started using the peppermint Alive Market drops the “relaxation effect” is immediate and incredible! The Cherry Wine strain they use is recommend for easing anxiety and I can see why!
6. Shots! Shots! Shots!
If you’ve ever had an energy shot, you’re familiar with a small bottle packing a big punch. In this case, I’m talking about the CBD Fx brand of Chill Shots. Containing 20mg of CBD per shot, the lemonade flavor is the best. It’s sort of bitter and a little chalky, but still tasty. Best when refrigerated, these hemp-infused shots act quickly to help calm frayed nerves and take the edge off anxious feelings. They are small but mighty, making for a perfect grab-and-go way to dose your CBD.
7. A Light Spritz of CBD
Sometimes you just need a little pick-me-up, or in my case, a little calm-me-down. Sprays are perfect for when you need that extra boost. After I had my daily shower, I sometimes like to take a couple spritzes of the PlusCBD spray, which, comes in peppermint, mocha, and plain flavors. It’s not as potent as some of the other products, but it’s nice to top off the relaxing effect of some other CBD products and fits conveniently and discretely in your purse or gym bag.
8. Shrooms, Anyone?
OMG, this new product from BodyChek Wellness is amazing! You get the brain benefits of their proprietary mushroom blend, combined with a 10mg dose of CBD. BodyCheck actually has some other amazing products too, but I wanted to highlight this one because it’s the revolutionary in combining the power of ‘shrooms and CBD all in one powerful capsule. Be sure to check out this company’s website for lots of educational content too!
9. Topical Relief
There are times when my shoulders and lower back really ache. When this happens, my go-to solution is the Pro-Sport ointment from CBD Clinic. Its physician-formulated and incredibly powerful. A dime-sized dollop massaged into the area of pain is all you need. Literally within minutes, I feel relief and can function more easily. The Pro-Sport strength comes in both a convenient pain stick and a jar, but there are other levels available. Depending on how severe your situation is, you have the option to dial down the intensity!
10. CBD for Your Furry Friends
I absolutely adore my three cats. My baby, Guru, has some serious anxiety issues. His hyperactivity is off the charts, so I decided to try some of the Pet Tincture from CW Hemp. CW Hemp is better known as Charlotte’s Web and has been making CBD products for humans for years. They recently introduced a pet-version and it’s made a world of difference for Guru (and for our family)! He’s much calmer after getting his dose of CBD and I feel good knowing it’s a quality product, made from quality ingredients.
To sum it all up, hemp-derived CBD can take many forms. This 4/20, go with a CBD product (or two) and get all of the healing with none of the high. Remember, hemp-derived CBD is legal in ALL 50 states if it has 0.3% THC or less. CBD products affect everyone differently, so what works for your neighbor may not work for you. Be sure to sample different products and brands to find the ones that are BEST for YOU!
